A. Arevalo G., D.D.S., graduated
from the
Metropolitan Independent University at Xochimilco in the Federal
District of Mexico City, Mexico in 1982 as Surgeon Dentist (USA
Dentist.) The doctor graduated at the top of his class with an
average of 9.11 (USA, slightly below a 4.0)
Dr. Arevalo completed graduate studies in 2002 at the University of Celaya, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico at the center for Orthopedics Dentofacial and Orthodontics of Mexico.
(Please note: Essentially, while orthodontics entails the management of tooth movement, dentofacial orthopedics involves the guidance of facial growth and development, which occurs largely during childhood. In both cases, appliances are frequently used – the more familiar braces for orthodontics, and other specialized appliances like headgear and expanders depending on what facial abnormalities are present. Sometimes orthopedic treatment may precede conventional braces, but often the two are accomplished at the same time. So if your child gets braces and headgear, he's undergoing orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.)
Because Dr. Arevalo is skilled in both areas, he is able to diagnose any misalignments in the teeth and jaw as well as the facial structure, and can device a treatment plan that integrates both orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic treatments.
The Doctor opened his practice in 1984 in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Dr. Arevalo is a prominent figure in the Nogales Dental Profession. The doctor has organized the dentists and developing programs in the community to enhance the Nogales Dental Community with specialized courses and training in new and innovative dental practices.

Dr. Arevalo lives in Nogales, Arizona with his wife, Maria Jesus (MJ). While his interests lie mainly in maintaining the best and most up-to-date Orthodontic and Dentofacial Orthopedic clinic in Nogales, the doctor also collects fine arts, gemstones and historical artifacts and early Indian tools. His clinic walls and display cases are almost like entering a museum (very interesting.)

Dr. Arevalo has developed, perhaps these days, a unique dental record system that includes a hard copy file folder of each patient's dental records. The doctor has the records on computer, but in addition he has the file folder (almost a book) that he can go over with the patient to show the problems that the patient needs to have corrected, the treatment plan graphics and follow-up photos of the progression being made at each visit.
The doctor uses the Damon Self-Litigating System to permanently correct problems (not merely make a cosmetic adjustment) by looking at the whole problem with the skull, jawbone and teeth. What
is most important to determine a Quality Treatment
Plan?
Without
doubt the most important dental or orthodontic treatment is the
diagnosis.
To reach
a proper diagnosis is essential to integrate a good history, which
will integrate elements such as photographs of the face, as we will

These are very important because they show us what the naked eye can not see such as:- Dental Root Size
- Caries lesions found in between teeth, under restoration or below the gum, ie the tooth root.
- When going to have teeth extracted, it is important to see the shape and inclination of the tooth roots to plan and avoid surprises during the surgery or simple extraction.

Lateral Skull Radiograph
It is an indispensable element for a good orthodontic treatment, as based on it are a series of cephalometric tracings, where from the results we first determine if a case of a dental problem in bad position, or skeletal problems.
Should prove to be a dental problem, see if it is a case requiring extractions or not, and plan the time of treatment and prognosis of the case.
Should prove to be a skeletal problem, make the planning of orthodontic treatment with orthographic surgery.

- Last but not least, it is important to take a few dental records to be taken to a semi-adjustable articulator, it will have on plaster models, a copy as close as possible to the patient and see how it finds its articulation level of the condyles.
